In Bulgaria abolished the legalization of diplomas of the Universities of the participating countries of the Lisbon Convention

27 October 2017, the Ministerial Council of Bulgaria adopted amendments to the Regulation on state requirements for recognition of higher education obtained abroad.

The adopted amendments cancel the requirement of legalization of diplomas obtained in Universities of the countries participating in the Convention on the recognition of qualifications concerning higher education in the European region (Lisbon Convention). Now for the recognition of higher education in Bulgaria will have to provide a normal copy of diploma and its translation. These requirements are for diplomas acquired at Universities of the EU and the following countries:

Australia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Canada, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, new Zealand, Norway, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, San Marino, Holy see, USA, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland.
